Get to Know Q & A

- Your nickname, if any, and how did it come about?

My dad has called me bunny since I was born.

- How did you get your start in track and field and/or cross country?

As a little kid I ran everywhere, so my parents thought it was funny that every time they asked if I wanted to compete, my answer was always “no, that’s your thing not mine”. I kind of found cross country and track on my own time, in middle school after Covid when my school started offering short sports seasons.

- Your parents' athletic background. Did they play any sports-where(HS, College, Pro), what position, when, any awards?  Please include names.

Both my parents ran collegiately for the University of Arkansas, and went on to run professionally for Nike. My mom (Sarah Schwald) ran the 1,500 and competed on world teams, and my dad (Daniel Lincoln) was the former American record holder in the steeple.

- Any siblings? Please include names and genders and any accomplishments in or out of sport.

- Outside interests- your hobbies, talents(musical, chess, anything), volunteering- what do you do in your free time?

I love to listen to music, and swim and thrift with my friends.

- At school, do you do any extracurricular activities? i.e. student government, clubs or other sports.

I was a part of student government last year, and I was a part of the WISE club (women in sports empowered).

- Pre- and post- race rituals. Any superstitions?

I do 7 of each drill and 7 sit ups before racing, and after my league meets for my school, I would go through the Taco Bell drive through with my mom.

- Movie watcher and/or book reader? What is/are your favorite book and/or movie and why?

I love the Mama Mia movies and Juno

- How do you deal with setbacks and triumphs?

I am a verbal processor, so I talk through every experience with my support systems like my teammates, coaches, and mom.

- Pet owner? If so, what is your pet's name and type/breed?

I have two dogs named Annabelle and Neville, they are coton de tulears.

- Where do you see yourself in five years?

I hope I’ll be running in college surrounded by good friends and teammates.

- What words would you have for your sixth grade self?

Relax, nothing is as serious as you think.

- Who is your favorite track and field athlete and why? How about other sports-who is your favorite athlete and why?

Keely Hodgkinson, she is so tactically smart and she has a fun balance to running and life outside of sport

- Favorite hype song, if any, before your competition

- Many athletes are quoted as saying " trust the process". What does that mean to you?

There will be ups and downs, but don’t doubt yourself, you are in more than one race or workout and you will have your moment.

- How do you balance social media with your performance? Does social media impact you positively or negatively?

I think social media is helpful to know what’s going on in the running world, but after a bad race it’s hard not to compare yourself to what you see online, so I think healthy breaks or mindfulness is necessary.

- Favorite and not favorite high school subject and why?

I liked math this year, it made a lot of sense to me. French was not my favorite.

- Favorite musical artist and why? What is your favorite song by that artist?

I've been listening to a lot of Brent Faiyaz recently. One of my favorite songs is “Moment of your Life”.

- Favorite pre- and post- meal?

I'll eat whatever is available before a race, and I like to have dinner with my teammates anywhere after the race.

- Dire question warning :) If you were unable to continue to compete in track and field, what would you do?

I would be sad. This sport has brought me so much experience and joy and new friends. I would probably continue running but in a non-competitive environment.

- What do you see your legacy being-in and outside the track world?

I want to leave a positive culture on the teams I am a part of, throughout my career.

- What is your vice? What do you binge on that you can't seem to control?

I spend too much time on my phone when I am alone.

- If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?

I would want to talk to my great grandmother.
